EMERGENCY CARE FOR NEONATES, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN AT THE ACCIDENT AND EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Welcome to the specialized Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at the National Institute of Child Health. This dedicated medical facility has been meticulously designed to provide immediate and expert care to neonates, infants, and children, with the valued support of the non-profit organization Childlife Foundation.
Our facility is meticulously crafted to offer a welcoming and reassuring environment for both children and their families, especially during moments that can often be daunting and unsettling. Our team of proficient healthcare professionals is specially trained in communicating effectively with children, ensuring that medical procedures and treatments are explained in a manner that is accessible and understandable to them.
At our emergency department, we recognize the distinctive needs of children and their families during times of crisis. We are deeply committed to delivering the utmost quality of care, blending compassion with expertise. During those critical moments, we stand by to provide not only medical expertise but also reassurance and unwavering support.
We pride ourselves on offering a 24/7 fast track outpatient department (OPD) exclusively for neonates and pediatrics. Our facilities encompass fully equipped neonatal and pediatric resuscitation rooms, along with dedicated observation areas for both categories of patients. Here, we ensure the delivery of the highest level of care possible, making the most of our available resources.
Our emergency department is staffed by a team of highly skilled and experienced medical professionals who specialize in addressing a comprehensive spectrum of medical and surgical emergencies that specifically impact neonates and children. Ranging from minor injuries and illnesses to life-threatening conditions, our team is fully equipped to expedite assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Our primary aim is to guarantee that your child receives optimal care promptly. Each patient is treated with personalized attention, reflective of their unique needs.
We take great pride in our continuous efforts to enhance the skills of our residents and medical professionals. We provide comprehensive training programs including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS), along with other advanced medical professional training.
To facilitate accurate and swift diagnoses, our Emergency Department is equipped with advanced ultrasound machines, portable X-ray machines, and monitors. We also maintain a dedicated Triage system for both pediatric and neonatal patients, ensuring streamlined care.
At our institute, all pediatric care and treatment services are offered completely free of cost, including essential vaccinations against Rabies, snake bites, and surgical emergencies.
