B. S. Nursing (Generic) Degree Program

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (GENERIC)

It is one of the first Bachelor Nursing Degree program in Pakistan. The four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program establishes a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to prepare clinically competent professional nurses who can provide holistic care to individuals, families, and communities. Graduates of the program will be eligible for licensure as Registered Nurses and Nursing Instructor/ lecturer. This Program was recognized by Pakistan Nursing Council at College of Nursing NICH in 2019 and allowed annual intake of 30 students. This program is affiliated with Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi for final examination, assessment and award of degree.

ELIGIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATE

  1. Qualification:  Sc (Pre-Medical) Fresh Candidates with minimum 50% marks in aggregated of three subjects; Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  2. Matric with Science and Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects.
  3. Age Limit: 18-30 years·         
  4. Gender: Only Female Candidates can apply.
  5. Domicile: Province of Sindh.
  6. Medical fitness certificate

POST BASIC SPECIALIZED DIPLOMA IN PEDIATRIC NURSING

Pediatric Nursing is a specialized field dedicated to the health and care of children, spanning from infants to teenagers. Children, as patients, possess distinctive healthcare requirements that necessitate specialized knowledge and expertise in their growth, illnesses, and injuries. Pediatric nurses must excel in communication skills to create a safe and supportive environment for young patients and their families.

This program received recognition from the Pakistan Nursing Council in 2017, with an annual intake capacity of 50 students at the College of Nursing, NICH. For final annual examinations and assessments, the program is affiliated with the Sindh Nurses Examination Board in Karachi.”

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Qualification: Diploma in General Nursing from a recognized Nursing Examination Board.
  2. Domicile: Province of Sindh.
  3. Gender: Both male and female candidates can apply.
  4. Valid PNC Registration as a Registered Nurse.
  5. NOC/Permission/Leaving certificate from the current employer of the respective institute.

POST BASIC SPECIALIZED DIPLOMA IN NURSE MIDWIFE

The major objective of the Midwifery Program is to prepare midwives who are capable of delivering effective and appropriate primary, secondary, and tertiary care to enhance the health of women, newborns, and families in diverse healthcare settings. This program also equips graduates with the skills to work independently or collaboratively within healthcare teams. The program received recognition from the Pakistan Nursing Council in 2009, with an annual intake of 60 students. Additionally, for final annual examinations and assessments, it is affiliated with the Sindh Nurses Examination Board in Karachi.

ELIGIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATE:

    1. Qualification: Diploma in General Nursing from any recognized Nursing Examination Board.
    2. Domicile: Domicile of Sindh
    3. Gender: Only female candidates are eligible to apply.
    4. Valid PNC Registration as Registered Nurse.
    5. NOC/Permission/Leaving certificate from the current employer of the respective institute is required.

Nurse Aid Course

IN-HOUSE NURSE AID (ONE YEAR COURSE)

This is a One Year In-House Nurse Aid Training Course, consists Theory and Practical of multiple subjects of basic level. The final annual examination and assessment body is the College of Nursing NICH as well as Certificate of training completion.

The major objective of the Nurse Aid Course is to prepare health care worker who can provide effective and appropriate Assistance in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Care to improve the health of the patient in various settings. This course prepares students to perform duty with expert health care team in routine clinical procedures.

ELIGIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATE:

  1. Qualification: Matric (Science) with 50 % marks minimum (Physics, Chemistry & Biology as compulsory subjects)
  2. Passed F. Sc (Pre-Medical) in the session of current year and previous two years will be eligible.
  3. Domicile: Province of Sindh.
  4. Gender: Only Female candidates can apply.
